Thanksgiving 2021
Hey! We celebrated our first Thanksgiving here in our new home in the mountains! Everything went perfectly, the turkey, the dressing, the sweet potatoes, the mashed potatoes, the green beans, the gravy, the cranberries; and last but not least, the pies (with whipped topping of course). Calorie overdose!?!?

The 13-lb. turkey only took about three hours to roast at 325 degrees instead of the recommended 3-1/2 to 4 hours. The roasting pan seems to do a remarkable job, perhaps because the heat is concentrated in a smaller enclosure compared to a regular oven.

I preferred a sweet potato instead of mashed potatoes, but my lovely wife prefers the mashed potatoes, and that’s fine! The sweet potatoes we cooked at 375 degrees for an hour and a half.

I only noticed after the fact, but the cranberries were not in the picture and had not been served. No matter that they didn’t get into the picture. After all those delicious calories, we felt like this.
Gotta work off all those excess pounds, ya’ know! So anyway, we hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving also. One extra blessing we received was a bit of eye candy on Alegres Mountain.
Anyway, from us to you, we wish you a peaceful and worshipful Holiday Season, and may God shower you with Blessings as He has us. Take care and stay safe!
