FedEx in Action
A while ago, I vented about package delivery by the USPS, where I described a route taken by that venerable organization to deliver a package. I thought that surely was the ultimate! But, I was wrong! This particular incident of another package has that beat significantly!
This traveler was instigated by the Federal Express folks, now known as FedEx, and it is a doosy, to put it mildly. I’ll keep this post short, so lets get to it.

Firstly, it was received at FedEx in Kansas City, MO, where it then migrated to Tucumcari, NM, then on to Phoenix, AZ. So far it makes perfect sense. At that juncture, logic would have it travel by the dotted route on the above image to its destination.
However, at this point, someone was either smoking some funky tobacco, or drinking something of a liquid sort. Because this is where FedEx shows their excellent efficiency by rerouting it to Hagerstown, MD. Perhaps there someone actually doing their job discovered the oops and rerouted it more toward its ultimate destination, again. It then perambulates to Silver Point, TN, then to Mesquite, TX, Ft. Worth, TX, then on through La Mesa, NM (a wide spot hidden in the upper valley above El Paso, TX) At this point, it eventually arrives in Goodyear, AZ (literally a part of Phoenix), probably within a few miles of where it was eight days earlier. So over a week was wasted in transit around the United States of America, to save fuel, I presume…
Now, hopefully it will arrive within a few more days, as it still has to be routed to Show Low, AZ, where it will be out for delivery to its destination in western NM.
And, oh by the way, the lovely USPS, again this year raised the price of a first-class stamp to $0.66. No wonder this country is going to the dogs!
Okay, I’m done. Have a great day in the Lord Jesus!
UPDATE: Finally received said package! Woo Hoo! Here’s the interesting part. Going to the FedEx tracking website shows the package went directly from Kansas City, MO to Phoenix, AZ, then to Show Low, AZ, the delivery distribution point for this area. Am I surprised? Not really. Seems they edited out the above journey… Still, that 10-day gap gives it all away!?!
KUDOs: Because it looked like rain (and it did), the delivery driver placed the package in a bag to protect it from the rain. THANK YOU for YOUR great service!
